I've bought and sold quite a bit this year and these are the watches I ended up with. I enjoy comparison / collection photos so I thought I would post this up. As you can see I enjoy oversized vintage Omegas. My wife and I have recently bought our first house and plan to do some remodeling. To help fund the remodel I've decided to sell all but three. Two are definite keepers but I'm torn on the third.

    Here's the collection.

    From left to right - 37mm Constellation Jumbo 14777, 37mm Constellation Jumbo 168.001, 1950s 36mm Geneve, 35mm 1940s Omega Ref. 2318, 35mm Cal. 613 Geneve, 36mm 1990s Omega Dynamic, 37mm Cal. 601 Seamaster 120.

    1. The Jumbo Constellation 14777

It has a cracked bezel but I have plans for a transplant (which would require more money). I love the watch and it would be difficult to find another if I sold it. I also have no idea how to value this one.

    2. The Jumbo Constellation 168.001

Not quite as nice as the 14777 but it very much feels like the same watch on the wrist. I could potentially keep this one and sell the 14777 which would be nice for my house.

    3. The 1950s Geneve Jumbo

I absolutely love this watch but it could definitely raise some money. On the downside it would almost be impossible to replace.

    4. The Omega 2318

My first vintage Omega and there's definitely some sentimental value here. As it sits right now it's not my favorite watch but I've contemplated trying to clean the dial with lemon juice and having a trip to Bienne as a backup plan.

    5. The 35mm Cal. 613 Geneve

Probably not the best for raising funds and I love the vibes on this watch. It's great as a daily.

    6. 36mm Omega Dynamic

Easy to replace and not quite a vintage. Nice watch though. I do love that dial.

    7. The Cal. 601 Seamaster 120

I never considered myself a dive watch guy but this one could change my mind. It's nice size with a thin case. Easily replaced but not in this condition. It would be good for raising funds.

I think the 14777 and 168.001 are the exact same watch other than the engraving on the inside of the caseback.

In other words, I think you could do a dial swap if you wanted and not hurt the combined value of the two pieces. Or if you prefer, a bezel swap.

Ask a watchmaker who knows more about vintage Omega than I. @Archer, what say you?

So there's one watch to sell.

Pretty sure the Ref. 2318 is an older redial, so that's two to go. The newer Geneve and the Dynamic don't do much for me, so that's four.

Leaves you with one of the two Constellations, the 120, and older Geneve.

    Only my opinion. YMMV.

Good points. I've gotten contrasting opinions on the 2318 but the majority have been that it's original. My initial thoughts were that the sub dial was redone early in the watches life. The more I look at it the more I don't know. The serial number dates it to 1944 so this was a wartime piece. My wife bought it as a gift for me but it was bought from an elderly Spanish man while living in Madrid. It had a broken crystal when she bought it (and I mean a hole in the crystal). She had the crystal replaced prior to giving to me. It even came with the original (I think) case.

The sm120, 135.027, is a really nice example.

I'd keep the Seamaster, the 1950's Geneve and the 14777.

I'd keep the cross hair Connie and the Seamster 120 and sell all of the rest. If you have any money left over after remodeling, buy a different brand for a change.

    That sm120... the 2318...

While I love the dynamic the price isn't going anywhere and good condition ones abound.

Based mostly on how you described your reasoning for each watch... I'd say keep the 14777 and 2318. They seem to have most sentimental value/potential for regret if sold. And then keep the 120 because it is gorgeous and a nice variation from the other two.

Gator has said it all - I would decide so too...

The 2318 has a redone dial (and not the best I must say) - this is not a keeper for me

If it's all about raising funds keep 2 and 6 sell the rest and re-group once funds are plenty.

Keep the diver, the Genève and the 168 Connie (with the dial from crackhead).
