1 jewel is enough for all of us

A recent discussion with a fellow watch nerd led me to snap a couple of photos of these Lapanouse 1 jewel watches. In truth, the perpetual date watches are not Lapanouse. If any of you know these, you know they (like Talky Tina) cannot be killed but keep not great time and will keep you awake at night unless you place them outside your home...like maybe in your mailbox, ala Chuck and Slippin' Jimmy McGill. They may be the toughest watch I've ever seen. Every one of those shown in the photos will take off after a dozen or less winds...usually. All are working. And NONE have ever been "serviced." I doubt any real watchmaker would deign to open one. I, on the other hand, have opened many. Archer, if you read this, maybe you can add something. Did you ever work on one? Maybe when you were a very young Archer? So show us your 1 jewel wonders, if you dare.

Didn't knew about them. Interesting. I had as a kid a zero jewel Ruhla, very nice looking case and dial and totally crappy as technic (was eventually thrown away as it wasn't working since a while I recall).
Those look as a much better solution though (you trigger my interest and I searched about them).

Not only do I have one, but it's been serviced.

I didn't know about the 1 jewel. In fact, I know very little about it. It's one of the first watches I picked up when I started getting into watches other than Hamiltons, and thought it was quirky and clever.

Truthfully, I had forgotten about it. 🤦

Edit: a perpetual calendar. Says so on the back.
