It's the "horological 4" https://www.hautehorlogerie.org/en/...-watchmaking/s/roman-numeral-iiii-on-dials-1/
Commonly known as the watchmakers 4 has been used for years to balance the VIII on the other side of the dial http://www.orientalwatchsite.com/the-watchmakers-four-why-some-watches-use-iiii-instead-of-iv/
No, this watch never has been on eBay. I guessing you have seen the Limited Edition on Ebay. This is the Restricted Edition, RRP Swiss CHF 39,000 when released in 1990. That is around $ 51,000 today.
For a watch that is seldom worn, I have to ask if it came with instructions for re-setting the perpetual calendar? Or is the watch maintained properly set, and left running on the winder?
I thought this was a reg production piece? where did you hear there were only four made? I have never heard of a restricted edition.
