If you go this route you should use a gold clasp and not a steel one. Too downscale for my taste to put a steel dp buckle on a gold watch. Tacky comes to mind. If you can't afford it now save your pennies up.
I think the OP wants the rubber strap on a steel clasp because they have a SS Speedmaster. I don’t think the OP is trying to mix metals.

I also recall seeing a thread here where someone purchased the rubber strap and paired it with a steel deployant for a steel Speedmaster.
Perhaps, but the title of the thread is about a rubber strap on a moonshine gold watch. A bit confusing. Certainly no issue putting that rubber strap on a steel watch.

That is correct, I have a SS 3861, so I want to get this rubber strap and order the SS deployant for it as well.
My guess it will be around $600 total....$300 for the strap, $300 for the deployant...
