    Hi,
I am offered to buy this pink gold Omega with a 30t2 RG movement. However, I have doubts about the watch's original condition.
What do you think, is it worth the acquisition?

Thanks a lot for your help,

dial is re-printed (badly!), the rest looks original...

additional issues: scratches and some rust on crown- and ratchet wheels...

Welcome to the forum, Marcel !

You wouldn't have a picture of the inside of the caseback, would you? This would help us.

The lack of ink sharpness and irregularities, especially of the minutes track, tells me that the dial has been repainted.

Are you looking for something attractive to wear or something collectable?
In my humble opinion, it has potential as an attractive wearer but would need some work and a correct dial to be considered a collectable.

    Again, welcome!

Hi MacOmega and UncleBuck; thanks for the warm welcome and the advice.
UncleBuck : I am looking for a watch to wear everyday but would not however like a dial that looks fake :).
You can see the dial has been redone looking at the small second, don't you?

Maybe I could ask you a 2 questions:
    - First, what is the interest / value in owning a 30t2RG (chronometer ) versus a normal 30t2? Will that change anything for me given that I will use it as an everyday watch?

    - Second, I am looking for a nice watch that would look as uncluttered, timeless and understated as the one you see below ;). (Not the sale price I know :D).
    => any other recommendations?

    Thanks!

The most important difference between a "regular" 30 T2 vs. a 30 T2 chronometer is the collectability and hence the higher price - there is no effect on the watch being a daily wearer... you can adjust / regulate a simple 30 T2 to accuracy within chronometer specifications easily if it is a well kept example and you have the patience to do so...
There are enough 30 T2 examples from late 40ies or 50ies out there which are similar to the watch #2 you showed us - you just need some patience and you will find a nice example for a modest price.

Thanks mac_omega, I will then be patient and wait for the perfect occasion... And won't hesitate to ask for the forum's opinion again.

Btw, the watch you have on avatar looks great. I guess it's a 1950s 30t2 chronometer. Saw one on eBay, but higher than 2k€ :(.
    Regards!

Well I'd like a watch that does not look "that vintage". Sorry, I know this is not a collector's approach :/
Also, I'd like it to match with my gold wedding band I'll wear on the same hand, so gold preferred.

Then, maybe something closer to this (which is offered for a very high price on the bay)

Am I looking for something that doesn't exist? :)

Depressingly, many of these guys have built their awesome collections by finding watches that don't exist. I don't think they can teach you how to do it, either.

I think I would figure it out eventually but I won't live long enough. Patience and experience are necessary but not sufficient.

Maybe something like this - 37.5mm diameter manual wind in an 18k rose gold swiss case.
