Apologies for not setting the date correctly, didn't seem worth it for one day! Who knows who the wee lad peeking over the top is?..........one of a kind, the best I ever saw.
Hey, I think I'm the one who bought the watch. It's my first Omega and I like it a lot. It's in great shape but it was running considerably slow when I got it. Something like 6 seconds/hour. I did a simple adjustment and timed the beat rate with the Android app WildSpectra Mobile Pro on my Nexus 7 tablet and I have it running within 5-10 sec/day now. That app works great. I have used it to time most of my pocket watch collection with very good results. My only question is this. I found the serial number on the small round insert that dates the watch to 1973 but I can't find any trace of the grade 1012 number anywhere on the movement. Is this common? I have seen one picture where the 1012 was printed below the serial # on the insert and another one where it is stamped on the movement itself. Mine has neither but I know it's a 1012 by the jewel count and the date feature.
Me too. One of those unknown brands from the 40's and 50's which gently faded away. Appears to use the then ubiquitous AS 984 movement. This watch is in immaculate condition as you can see. 1940's, I think.
