Is there any real story there?--did Nivada/Grenchen(/Croton) supply one of the Antarctic expeditions at one time? Cool marketing either way.
As I understand it, Nivada supplied watches to the members of the US Navy Deep Freeze One expedition in 1956-56 (probably not pretty watches like this one), then started putting "Antarctic" on lots of models... I guess because "Sherpa" was already taken.
