    is the new ventura sparc considered a mechanical mov't? if yes is it an "in house" mov't?

    I would call it mechanically powered or driven, the actual time keeping is done through processors and other voodoo! for me a mechanical "movement" is a movement which is controlled and regulated to produce an accurate time signal. the watch above uses mechanical energy to power the watch by conversion to electrical but it is not regulated in anyway it simply acts as a dynamo as it were.

    I would see very little point in developing an inhouse movement to do this as it is effectively a rotor and gear train run to a capacitor so any bottom half of a mech movement would do the job (I happily stand to be corrected)

    but what do I know, I like quartz, spring drive, auto, eco, kinetic and manual so im not exactly a blinkered purist(see Luddite!)
