In house 2 register chronograph that's 38 mm, not gold so probably stainless, and an off the beaten path brand like Doxa…. Is it a Pierce?
Nope. Here's a freebie. Doxa did in fact use this caliber, the only other company (besides the manufacturer) to use it. 8.
Alright, in 38 mm cases Doxa used the Valjoux 22 & 23 but they were used by many companies so both those are out. The Venus 140 was another, but Venus calibers were even more prolific. I'm out.
That'll be close enough - very well played, Jim. It is a Contograf, complete with box and papers. as clean and crisp as they come bracelet reminiscent of the early Speedmaster ones the dial is something magnificent Eberhard starfish verso and Eberhard cal 310-82 within. Also used in the Doxa T-graph, one of the early chronographs with date complication delighted with this one... thanks to the seller, who respected a very longstanding dibs in offering it to me.
Great find there Lou! For the education of the "great unwashed" like myself, can you tell us any more history about this particular model? I agree, it is a gorgeous dial!!
I don't know that I can shed a lot of light on the history of Eberhard. I can tell you that they seemed to find most of their market in Italy (based on where one finds examples nowadays), are well regarded as a chronograph producer, with one of the early chronograph+date movements, and produced an array of well-conceived tool watches in the 1960s . Perhaps one of the other Eberhard enthusiasts can fill in more.
