I made this too easy.

For a Longines collector. 😉

First question would be "Is it automatic?". If yes, it has to be post 1945 and can only be a full rotor since Longines made no bumpers. If no, then it's "Is it a chronograph?" which odds say it is because we know your tendencies. If it is, it has to be a 13Z, 30CH, or 33x (Valjoux 72 base).
Since the box is identifiable by the fonts to within a couple decades, rule out the 33x. Leaves one question - which caliber of the two is it?

Anyone wanna go for the ref.?

That would be tough.

Well, I guess those that know me are not too challenged to guess I got a chronograph

It's a cal. 30Ch in 18K gold from 1947

The dial has its flaws, but the case...oh mama, the case! 37mm of pinky golden goodness

We have the French to thank for this creation (and since we were talking about French cases and value earlier, I don't think this detracts here)

Damn, Lou. You really need to get with the hand-me-downs program. Anytime you score something so incredibly gorgeous and rare like an original, good condition Longines chrono, you have to pass down one of your less 'noble' watches.

We'll start with your pulsations bezel Universal. I just sent you a PM with my address and appreciate your generosity in advance. And just think, with all of the good will that you'll be earning around here, you'll have friends to talk watches with you even when you're drooling on yourself in the old people home.

Seriously, I think you need a photo shoot of your collection... bound in the format of a coffee table book.

Hard to tell from the angle of the movement shot, but is yours a decorated movement? The earlier Longines had fantastically decorated movements. By the later years they were still gorgeous, but they had dropped some of the labor intensive decorating.

Look at that anglage!
