The Don Draper effect is…. well, obviously still in effect!

Look for date-at-6 models = 2627 and 2757 with calibers 353 or 355 where the 2757 has a little beefier lugs. Also many caliber 351 references fit your description. There's even a 342 or 344 that would do.

The problem there is you'll never know for sure if the bracelet was original unless all the original documentation, including the receipt, are included in the package. Back then, the watch head was chosen then the customer picked out the strap or bracelet they wanted from whatever options the dealer had or could order.

Good luck with your search though! We'll help any way we can.

How much should I look to pay for just a constellation w/o the bracelet?

Depends on the model and condition. All other things being equal, a pie pan carries a premium over a dome dial of a few hundred dollars. The least expensive pie pan Connie is usually the 168.025 front loading caliber 564 models. Near mint versions can still be found for less than $1000 in stainless or gold capped. If your budget goes up to $1500 you can get a really nice stainless or gold capped dog leg lug model - 168.005 with date (caliber 561 or 564) or 167.005 without date (caliber 551).
