For reference I can tell you with 100% certainty that there have been stainless Constellations nearly identical to that which have sold for $1500-ish..... and not just 1 or 2.
Very true. http://omegaforums.net/threads/fs-omega-constellation-pie-pan-stainless-steel.17099/ I have also seen some at the $1,000 level as well. Like most collectibles, values are in a range. Many variables, such as rarity, condiition, reputation of seller, service history, etc. go into figuring the amount you would want to pay for a vintage Constellation. Hope this helps, gatorcpa
With the bracelet, this seems like a fair price. Sure, you can hunt around and maybe find something cheaper but you'll also see many listed higher too. Trust me, all will be forgotten when you open up the box and try it on for the first time. I say stick with the Constellation. Looks very nice to my eyes.
Selbo, yes, "all will be forgotten when you open up the box and try it on for the first time"! Thank You!
I bought this particular example. It is in truly excellent condition. It is not an ordinary so-called pie-pan, but rather the far rarer zwöufsiitigs ziffreblat also known as douze pans.
Dear Sirs, Two days before, I didn't think that, it is so complicated in this "new game" with vintage watches! Seeing my difficulty in making decision, the seller kindly give me the last chance: An other Constallation, gold coated (but not pie-pan) for the same price of 1270 USD. How do I, Sirs?
Pick the pie pan. It is more popular model, SS worth better than gold filled/plated, it come with nice bracelet. You can buy strap anytime.
Please, nothing to be sorry about. It is difficult with a new game and different language. We are all anxious to help you make a good decision.
Dear Sirs, I just see in the "Verified list of Omega Constellation calibres with case/reference numbers", the SS pie-pan Connie is cal.551, year first release is 1960, Reference No is CK 14900 and Model/Description is "Genta designed case - dog leg lugs" Please tell me, what does mean "Genta designed case"?
It is very kid of You, Cicindela! Thank You so much for your comments and for the great educational informations, Sir!
