    hello to everyone!
    I need your help for a shipment from the U.S. to Italy
    I bought a watch from a friendly forum user;
    for shipment from the United States was used FirstFlight courier Courier Express.
    After a day of delivery of the package the seller tells me that the parcel watch was withheld by Customs for tax payment;
    then the seller tells me that the Customs are requesting for a $1550 USD (i bought the watch for $ 3.300); They said that the payment is for the Authenticity Seal and Tax fee;
    Customs has told to the salesperson that this money is used to pay for the Authenticity Seal and Tax fee and that I do not need to pay for any other italian taxes fees when the watch arrived at italian custom.

    So i need you help me and the seller:
    • - taxes are due for the export of any good?
    • - if so, on what percentage of the value?
    • - I can pay the customs fees Italian already in the U.S.?
    • - What is the Authenticity Seal?

    thanks in advance to those who want to help!

    Sorry for my english!

    If the watch was shipped from the US to Italy, duties for the watch and whatever other fees are required will be collected by customs in Italy and billed to you unless you have a different agreement with the seller. There will be no duties/taxes/fees due from the US end of it AFAIK. Shouldn't they be contacting you instead of the seller in order to get the watch released?

    As far as the rates are concerned, I couldn't tell you - here in the US, the duties amount to no more than 5% or so of the declared value of the watch.

    Did you pay via paypal? Smithfisher was banned today due to suspicious activity requesting deals via email rather than on here. The IP originated from a datacenter at a hosting company, not a residential account.

    We also found that his avatar was stolen from a long standing member on another forum.

    first of all::::: what brand? omega? rolex? second: who wants the "tax" money? Italian or US side? third: where is the watch in the moment? still USA or Italy? fourth: what shows the courier internet tracking ? fifth: you as the buyer and receipient of the shipment makes the rules. you can request that the item will be returned to the seller on your shipment expenses with signature on the receiving end. that might be in doubt, if your confidence in the seller is not there. answer quickly and we will be able to help you. kind regards. achim

    I think this was a total scam - no watch at all and the "seller" was trying to get more money from the buyer. Judging from the WTB post of the OP, it was probably represented as a darth vader or anakin omega.

    Thank you all!
    I have many doubts about this story, but I want to answer the questions of Achim:
    1) brand: OMEGA - 145.003, this one:
    [IMG]
    2) the seller by the U.S. wants the tax money;
    3) the watch is in USA, this is the tracking link: http://firstflightcourier.us.mn/trackresult.php, the tracking number is: 9518734BN00876; the status of shipment is:
    Status
    Witheld for duty tax payment

    4) to justify the new amount for customs fees, the seller sent me this scan:
    [IMG]

    Now, few hours ago i sent a email to the seller asking for the shipment of the watch or the refund of my money...at now he didn't respond me..........

    Thank you all!

    Is that even a real courier / shipping company? They sponsor "netball" (click link, lower right on the page)?

    Looks like fake courier (look at the about us link):

    http://firstflightcourier.us.mn/about/

    Definitely fake customs declaration form - I have one right in front of me - it was created with cut and paste.
