Interesting moon phase that someone snapped up the moment I clicked on the listing... not exactly sure why.

Not exactly sure why either - it's a parts watch. Perhaps they've got a decent dial.

You and me both, I've come closer to hitting he buy button with these then with Zenith's. Have only be saved by providence and the appearance of some vintage Omegas. :cautious:

I just have to repeat "home remodeling then Breguet" over & over & over & over.......

EDIT: You guys have no idea how close I was to making a serious run at that Monodatic:

http://www.ebay.com/itm/190812705142?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2649Purchases made through these links may earn this site a commission from the eBay Partner Network

I had a stash of several hundred more than what it sold for, but just couldn't justify it when push came to shove. (read: Windy would have freakin' killed me for spending house cash on a watch)

Yup. It's a polerouter. I thought your question was going to be if it was really a polerouter since it has a bumper inside rather than the microrotor movement... the earliest polerouters had bumper automatics, and some were quite fancy.

Ahk I guess I just associated Polerouters with that semi-sports style case, rather than seeing them as dress watches. The other thing is if the point is magnetic shielding for trans-polar journeys, how does the gold case work with that? :\

A good question! Many Polerouters were in anti-magnetic steel cases with a heavy (300 micron) gold cap, to give them the true look of a gold (not gilded) case without sacrificing the shielding. Not sure how that worked with a solid gold case unlsess there was an inner casing.
