Thanks Ash, although I didn't do much, a big thanks to Gator! Thanks Tinger and dibs duly noted, first time I've had dibs called before I even received a watch.

I'd bet there's not a single UG part in that watch. Yes, fake.

It's legit. Last one, which was discussed a little ways back, sold for $2.7k but with a much rougher dial.

Plated? Meh, no thanks; be sure to look at the large amount of plating missing on the back of the lugs. The sweep seconds is a replacement. Have not checked out the reference/case, as I'm not too interested in this. A bit thread bare, though original, dial.

Price is quite high, IMO, given that it needs service, a new seconds hand and is gold-plate. It's going to take the better part of $1,000 to put this one right.

    Dial looks very good though.

That "P" suffix to the case reference is interesting - haven't seen "plated" designated that way before (if in fact that is what it refers to)

And what he likes! Flipping awesome piece. Worth 4k? Was to the buyer and that is all that counts sometimes.
Buying what you like and what is cool to you is THE most important thing in collecting anything. Why collect sports cars if your a truck guy?

That one is mine; I have two of these and decided to sell the smaller one. Not totally sure I made the right choice, because though they both run well, the case and dial on the one for sale is better. Any one have any thoughts? Only for reluctant sale because I need some cash to support a car restoration.

'65 Jaguar 3.8 MK2. Mechanically great, but badly, very badly, needs paint, chrome & carpets!

For a 3.8 I'd probably sell one of the Tri-Compax's too

I think I might think about taking the auction down, there are no bids anyway and only 2 watchers. I have about 20 or so other watches I'd sooner see go. Suffering from seller's remorse before it's sold!
