I am slowly working my way along the Speedie food chain and have recently added a Mk2, mk3 and 4.5 to the collection which began with my 1969 Original shape. This came with a dust cover inside to protect the movement. Did other models have this option? I would have thought the Mk2 would have had it as it has same 861 movement. And auto models would not? Clarification sought please.

Mk2s didn't have a magnetic sheild/dust cover, movement is held in a spacer ring to the case with tabs.

(unless mine's been butchered that is :D)

The dust cover on the original Speedmaster is also to keep the movement in place when you screw down the case back, it doesnt have the case clamps that you see on the MKII.
The MkII doesnt have a dust cover, neither does the flightmaster which is almost an identical movement nor the chronstop (865 movement)
