I have no desire to own one but I rarely see anyone list one in there collection, much less reference them. Are they simply their own animal or not such a good pairing with Speedmaster collections?
I have owned a few Navitimers but only have a 18k 806 at the moment. I love them. A couple of my old watches.
There are a few members who own them - they just don't post them a lot. Nuttin' wrong with an old 806!
I've never been interested in "pilot" watches. I'm a pilot and I'd never find any use for these tiny numbers. In a cockpit, all I need is the time, that's it. Navitimer dials are just too busy and in a loud vibrating environment
I wouldn´t say that I actually got both these two together in a trade and thought they made a lovely pair
Great watches ! Sometimes they the Rodney Dangerfield treatment because of movement " prejudice. But, some of their dial designs are iconic.
Ok, they make a great pairing! The cosmonaute, so it only rotates once per twenty four hours as the dial is marked, is that correct? I know nothing about them so I am assuming, but the 24 hour dial is interesting.
Funny as i know several ladies that love the woman,s watches. My better half has one and has been looking at another. Myself i don't like the size of most, but there is a few i would wear.
Coincidentally, I am servicing a vintage one right now: I have a friend who is a goldsmith and he sometimes gets clients who are offloading watches. An older lady who's husband had passed was selling and he got this and a nice rose gold filled Tudor with a black dial in trade for some work he did for her. I tried to buy the Tudor but he won't sell it just yet, but I am servicing the Breitling. I find the dial a bit too busy for me personally, but in terms of the movement it runs fine actually. I had to clean up the case and it will be going back together today. Cheers, Al
I have an O&W Aviation I got through a trade. It's essentially a NOS Navitimer made from the bankruptcy sale parts in 1979. It's cool, but not really my style.
Great watches ! I love them... Remember that it was on the wrist of Lt Cmdr Scott Carpenter (one of seven astronauts for the NASA Mercury program) that received his own 24-hour Breitling on the 21st May, 1962 just three days before his historic flight of MA-7 Ciao, Gino
