Magnificent. I have to go to France on a Type XX prospecting expedition - Breguet, Vixa, Airain and Dodane -
Chronofix - that's a good forum neologism. "Man, it's been a month since I bought a watch. I'm jonesing for a chronofix!"
Chronofix addiction : http://www.chronomania.net/forum/bo...dfdb1d7a8bf7fc518899cf5b9c8d8994#.Uuv93H-9KSM ( from a french topic but nothing google translate can't sort out I guess )
Love the OP, really unique and subtle classic tones. But also liking the Chronos' above, especially the 2nd one. Digital back and analogue. Nice
Beautiful watch - epitome of a Type 20 configuration. Do you know what military issued it? Over the years, this 765 AVI designation has remained confusing to me. I must have seen half-a dozen variants designated as 765 AVI, inlcuding that nifty one with the digital minute counter. I'm sure there is some rhyme and reason to the 765 AVIs, but I sure as heck haven't figured it out.
Maybe this helps Lou ? https://sites.google.com/a/kesting.nl/765-avi-investigation/ https://sites.google.com/a/kesting.nl/765-avi---cp-family-chronology-1953-to-1978/ p.s. I have just acquired 1 for crtain and possibly 2 pieces with the minute counter aperture . 1 1953 , 1 1960ies
Here's the one I just acquired , on its way from my watchmaker who's doing a service , then to me ;-)
Aquastar Benthos 500, which has a modified A.Schild movement that allows for a 60 min timer. Here's a (reinvented) Japy chrono from the 90's. Don't believe they lasted into the 2000's. It uses a Dubois Depraz piggyback chrono: Seiko 5717 from 1964, their first ever chrono:
But not really a chronograph?! Movement is like a chronograph but actually the function is not as far as definition goes? Love it all the same!!!
