some infos: it is powered by the Caliber 12 micro rotor. developed by Buren,Heuer and others. and used in many 70`s Heuer chronos. as in Hamiltons and Bulova`s. this one is a monster; 44 mm by 49 mm from pusher to crown. massive steelcase with a very unusual blueish/grey bezel....... kind regards., achim
Here's an interesting one - the Excelsior Park Monte Carlo Like the Bulova Marine Star, it comes in the same case as the Zenith Cairelli, and interesting instance of doppelgänging The movement is particularly unusual. It is a Valjoux 7740, essentially a Heuer/Hamilton/Breitling cal. 12 with the autowinding microrotor removed in favor of the addition of a running seconds subdial. Further, rumor has it that these movements were acquired from the Breitling bankruptcy, which effectively dates the watch and explains the milled grooves on the bridge where the movement would otherwise be stamped with the manufacturer's name. A very practical larger watch
Ooops. Does anyone know how to link an image from a tumblr page? For those that are too impatient for me to sort out my tech skills, it's here... http://thechronothusiast.tumblr.com/image/48792975654
Man, that's a nice case and dial, once again great colours too....you're making me feel as if my choices are very dull
unusual? dunno, but I love it Unusual? perhaps. Stupid, maybe given that the chrono is only good for timing events less than 60 seconds. Rare, well it is the only chronostop with this case and dial colour I have ever seen and ive only seen 2 with the black dial
Excelsior Park EP40 / Gallet Multichron 12 rebranded for Certina. I have seen one other for sale with a white dial.
