I see a lot of these waffle dials come up for sale but it seems most appear dirty with instances of discoloration. Is it possible to clean a waffle dial and if so, is this considered refinishing the dial? I don't mind a consistent, attractive patina but the random spotting is a deal breaker for me. Anyone had success cleaning a waffle dial that's not considered a full restoration (i.e. refinished) or is any type of cleaning work to the dial by definition a "refinished dial"?
