Not sure the hands are correct? I thought the 165.014 is supposed to have straight hands.

+1. It should have straight hands. Also the bezel does not look original as the font is thicker compared to an original IMO.

I've been advised by a knowledgeable and respected member on here that the 165.014 model featured several transitional elements - this included very early 165.014s featuring dauphine hands and dials from 14755s, and late model 165.014s featuring the famous sword hands from the 164.024 Seamaster 300s.

This would be perfectly consistent with transitional elements seen in early calibre 861 Omega Speedmasters, which incorporated various combinations of dot-over-90 bezel, applied Omega dial, and Hippocampus-only casebacks found in calibre Ω321 premoon Speedies.

The dial and hands would be ok with me it's the bezel that looks suspect - agree that the numbers are a bit too thick and the "10" is too misaligned with the corresponding marker in the dial (a bit of misalignment is ok but this is more than what I would expect).

    Hi

But with that said , it's not a reason not to go for it....just to bear in mind that at some point you may have to source a correct replacement (unlikely) or place an order with Aldo (long leadtime !).

Price is climbing I see....£1800 GBP by the end ???

    Best - Neil

Think it's pretty good and correct and the really early 165.014's does not come up that often.
Bezel, well, it does look a bit off in alignment of the font. Perhaps not straight at 12. But font style is correct, but yes a bit fat looking. Would like to see a picture in natural light and at 45 degree angel to see if it has that concave shape or not. The lume marker at 12 on the bezel does look old and right, so...

Ended at $3.999 . ... much more than I thought, especially if buyer was in Europe

If the bezel is original (which it could still be - pictures just not good enough to tell for sure), price is appropriate even if the buyer was in Europe.
