Not bothered by the lack of movement shot and 'possible water damage?'

I can't see any bad damage to the dial, the hands show no signs of rust at the pivots and the seller probably got this at an estate sale and not being a huge watch dealer may not know how to open the case. If it stays low it'd be worth a chance.

I actually just returned this watch back to them. I picked it up for $1100, and was initially pretty psyched. When it came in, however, I was disappointed in the condition. The haziness referred to from 12-3 o'clock on the dial is worse than described. I didn't even keep it long enough to bring to my bench guy. If the price stays this low, you're right, it may be worth it. The seller, as you point out, is not a watch guy -- however, he was great with communication, and I had no issues with reversing the transaction.

You know, In my opinion, I favor that the dial and lume are original, it's more garanteed. One sure way to tell, at least about the lume, is to hold the watch under a Geiger counter.

    I don't think that's a sure way.
We have a fellow on the forum that saves old
lume from dials and grinds it into a powder and then mixes
it with binder to relume dials.
