    Steve999, Congratulations !!
So your first post is to confirm a winning bid on a great watch, very nice.
You have won an honest watch from an honest seller, a very, very good start indeed.

Please notice he states he is not sure when it was last serviced. These mechanical watches are like classic automobiles, be sure and change the oil and get it lubricated before you take it for a drive. Try not to even wind it until properly serviced, we can offer help here.

Seriously, the old, gummy oils can cause problems and if you do properly care for this watch, you will have something to pass on to your grandchildren. Grandpa's first piece of his collection !

You didn't think you were finished did you?

p.s. set an avatar unless you like cats, a picture of your watch would be nice.

p.s.p.s. We must have photos when it arrives.

I'm curious where this one will end, the case and bracelet look to be very sharp and I'd be seriously considering it had I not completely blown my budget and then some for 2013:p

Steve, not sure what service you are talking about. We are a brotherhood (sisterhood, too) of collectors eager to share knowledge and our fascination with mechanical (for the most part) watches.
We ask that you join as a gentleman and try to help as much as you are helped, which is not easy!!

Link did not work for me, just copy url and paste.

Buck, you mentioned "be sure and change the oil and get it lubricated," so i was wondering what i should expect to pay for that?
Here is another try at link:

I appreciate the help, at the moment I cannot contribute anything to the overall collective knowledge, but maybe someday!

Steve, if you are speaking watch lube/ service $100-200 plus parts is a good deal. Give us your locale and we may have some suggestions.
Clumsily, my brain was thinking service for the guidance.

Regarding the new link you posted:

Alex is a well respected seller, dealing only in the finest. I am not qualified to speak of value, but there are others who are, that will chime in, I hope.

Steve, I have personal experience with a fine watchmaker in Pennsauken, NJ.
Steve, N2FHL here on this forum, is a fine gentleman and a superb Omega watchmaker. Archer in Canada, Al Jensky, is also the best, but for what you need and for this watch, don't hesitate to check locally for a "sympathetic" (does not alter the case or movement from original, only performs maintenance that is sympathetic to the collectibilty of the piece) watchmaker. Expect to be dealing with an old Dude as the average watchmakers age is about 70. (Sorry Steve and Al)

If you need more info, let me know.

I don't know if 'sharp' is the right word, but at least the facets on the lugs aren't completely polished off. This one's a little better for comparison:
