Yes, different dial design (but, correct and original). White, red, blue and black were the dial color choices. On top of that, there were multiple dial designs as the line progressed through the 60's and 70's. Wittnauer started the pro series in the 1950's with the Venus 188 and then moved on to the Landeron 248 and Valjoux 773x. They also made (3) register watches with a (12) hour recorder but I'll stick to (2) for now as the (3's) are a totally different market (I'm also typing on an iPhone and my finger hurts lolazzzy). The introduction of battery watches finished of Wittnauer with a quickness in the 70's. Pretty to easy to source parts. Also, many items like bezel inserts are interchangeable with the heuer autavia Hey, you never know. The watch you posted is super mint. I bet it sold for $1500 + the watch below is usually how these look ( average condition) and these usually fetch 450 to 750. V V V V
Ambitious is putting it mildly. I also like how there's not one picture where you can see the non-original crown that the seller says he believes is a variant used as original. Could this be a listing by our buddy who screwed enough members to get the boot?
No shocker about the starting price then. Even if that were in $ instead of £ it would be a little high. That watch, while in decent shape, certainly hasn't sat untouched as stated in the description.
Here's the reissue Flagship offered by a seller I've bought from in the past: http://www.ebay.com/itm/New-Longines-L47954782-Flagship-Heritage-Automatic-Mens-Watch-L4-795-4-78-2/381050078554?_trksid=p2047675.c100011.m1850&_trkparms=aid=222007&algo=SIC.MBE&ao=1&asc=20140602152332&meid=05d55ffa0b684fec86c303c7264a3e74&pid=100011&prg=20140602152332&rk=7&rkt=10&mehot=lo&sd=390999449907Purchases made through these links may earn this site a commission from the eBay Partner Network I can't speak about the asking price because I don't follow modern watches, but there is the "Make an Offer" option. EDIT - seems they offer it even cheaper on their own site: http://www.watchmaxx.com/watch/long...4.795.4.78.2&gclid=CNH5zfii1sICFaNj7AodrmQAew

Lovely 3rd series (cal. 15.68, metal dial) tartarugone, a watch I beieve very much undervalued, particularly as midsize Longines 12.68's and step case examples trade at higher and higher prices. $2k+ seems right, but will suffer from non military inscriptions. I have one and it's one of my favorites.
