I bought and sold a very similar no date (290) version of that same stainless Conquest last year for around $550 I think.

It's where, at the seller's discretion, all inference of a bidder ID is not disclosed. There's probably a better and comprehensive explanation from Ebay.

I'm not sure what you see. My WAG, my untrained eye and bad photo, it looks as if the regulator can not be adjusted. If that's not it, I won't be surprised.::facepalm2:: :p

I'm not familiar with the movement, but that should be an eccentric screw.

    Is it not?

Sorry I couldn't do a detailed assessment but there was a "convenient" light bloom over the area in question.:cautious:

All else equal - do stainless steel Longines watches tend to cost more or are more valued to collectors, than gold filled?

I'm going to go out on a limb here and say that stainless steel (fill in any manufacturer here) watches are more valued by collectors than gold filled (or plated).

Right now, yes. That could change depending on style though.

Remember though the first Law of collecting: Condition, Condition, Condition. So if you have a NOS (real one) Gold-filled watch it may go for more than a just pretty good SS case of the same model.

How 'bout dat Ultra-Chron logo dial caliber 431 you pointed out. I see the offer price on that gold filled example, but haven't come across a stainless steel

Which one? Stainless versions of U-C's definitely go for more than gold filled examples.

Oh, the Flagship U-C. That's not so common of a watch, and it has an original buckle too. Don't know what it actually sold for though.
