    Hey guys,

Here's a Railmaster. Looks polished and maybe the hands are not correct, one should be a broad arrow style, no?

    What else am I missing?

Yeah, that was something I wasn't seeing. It is listed as a 2990-1

The Railmaster and ranchero are similar. Was looking for a ranchero.

More reading to do on these for me.

It's a nice seamaster with original parts including the hands.

Not ranchero though? I seem to find 2990 both with and without the ranchero text.

2990 was used for both ranchero and seamaster models.

Do you have shot of the back. Ranchero has a unique snap type. Case looks more "Ranchero" than "Seamaster"

Case is identical for both - only dial is different.

What's a good range $$ to expect for a nice one? Seems a bit all over the place. Preferably Ranchero, but Seamaster is nice too.

So this style can be an original dial for a Seamaster too?

I really like this style but never knew an original Seamaster could be so equipped.

This forum's great for all the tidbit that may be picked up about Omega models.

Omega site only calls out Ranchero for 2990?

One of the many shortcomings of the database.

A good one. Case has been polished though and the back rotary cut, which is a pity

Case looks unpolished unless I am missing something? That looks to me like the factory original caseback finish.

Be your own judge, but to me it stands out as polished. I´ve seen a few, also good ones, and none had a case looking like that one, shiny in front and with that grinding on the back. It hasn´t been heavily polished, but to me it´s doubtless that it has been polished.

    Here´s mine: Seamaster 2990.jpg

    Seamaster 2990, back.jpg

Sadly not the best pucture of the back, but the dial on mine appears to be clearly better than the dial of OP´s, and still mine has no signs of circular grinding on the back

If that is a NOS specimen, then it will be hard to argue against polished front and rotary cut back as factory original finish....
