I was "dibsing" the gold rounded tank Kyle pictured, I took his post to mean he already owned it.

Evan, I sat there with my finger on the button but the case condition worried me and I have only just started following these. It's nice to be looking at neat watches priced in the hundreds instead of the thousands!
Frankly, this is why I started this thread, to identify which of you kind, knowledgeable gentlemen were interested in these that I could ask for help.

    THANK YOU !!

    A little Omega variety.

    Ugly dials, cool cases.

That seller likes to (IMO) over-restore his watches for auction (esp. with respect to dial refinishing), so caveat emptor.

No need to be curious. We all know what happens on eBay now. Would anyone bet against a shill?

Norman, I find those stunning. Some of the patina gets a little heavy on a few, but some of the enamels and porcelains hold up extraordinarily well.
You just can't duplicate the individuality and artisanship that these craftsmen could convey before automation and standardization became so prevalent. I wish the Omega watchmakers had initialed or marked these somehow (Assembled by Otto, 1/1/1927). Would have been interesting.

Thanks for taking the time to share those with us!

Welcome mate, always great to see more variety, this thread has quite a few vintage models that we don't see nearly enough of, including yours

Congratulations on that purchase. If it was the one that sold on eBay recently, I was tracking it and wondered who got it. ;)

There are many here that share your tastes!
Tire-comedon, X350 XJR, SpikiSpikester, adam78, gatorcpa, others and to a much lesser standard, myself, follow these old beauties !!
I find the wonderful, artistic variation of these Art-Deco cases to be much more interesting than the analysis of some Speedmaster dial minutiae (no offense intended).
Before long, I feel a new sub-forum, Antique !, will need to be formed.

I was also watching this one on the Bay. Did not bid because I was not sure of the dial, but it looks better on your pics than on the eBay listing...

UncleBuck : I fully support the creation of an antique subforum!

Sure it looks original on your pictures, seller's ones were not as precise and I wasn't sure looking at the eBay listing.
I am not considering selling the watches I posted, but if I change my mind I'll post on OF... .

Your 23.7 is nice, I like engraved cases. Is yours Omega signed?

The Armure (fourth picture of my previous post) is also a 23.7. Another one :

    But I tend to prefer 23.4SC :

Or some nice 26.5 SOB :

Can we see more from your collection?

Yes, the silver case one is signed by omega. I also like the 23.4 slot and have a dozen of them or so. Will post them later.
    Cheers!

    Ok, here's some more:
Medicus, 23.4SCT1 from 1937(The hands were restored after this picture was taken and have now a mint look!)
    dial_crown.jpg

This one is a little bit earlier, 1935, and with the rare sub-seconds variant.
    9735_1.JPG

...and this one has the case reference 4044, the same model as yours in the 3rd pic...
    DSCF8707.jpg DSCF8719.jpg

and now, this one is a real puzzle... never put my eyes on another one with this kind of casing... (??) - that's also 23.4SC.

    Hi,
nice ones. The first you showed is a Naiad, not a Medicus, as far as I know. Although the Omega Vintage Database qualify all 23.4SC as ´Medicuś this denomination was used in 1936 only for the first square model with this caliber. Howeveŕ the one you showed is from the waterproof line, called Naiad. I have a couple of watches with this case. It existed with at least 2, maybe three different casebacks, the first is one with three semicircular notches for the opening tool, older ones had six.

Is the second a 23.4? I have seen this with the older 23.7, but not with the 23.4.

sorry my laptop is not available for the moment and I post from my Ipad, so I can't post pictures. I will when I get my laptop back on monday evening.
