I might hold the trump card for this hand - if we're talking major mistakes. Bad redial / franken.... .... missing a bead and a broken clasp too. It's almost 7 years since buying that. Learned my lesson!
Practically gave it to a member of another forum. Hoi gave me a replacement dial (non-date, as the 14.381 should have) and I found some other parts to start it on the path to correctness, but ended up letting another newer vintage collector finish the project. Looking at a couple posts in this thread make me realize some of you guyz iz spoilt. Youz are gettin' da benefit of sum of our diplomas from da School of Hard Knocks / eBay campus.
The Constellation was actually bought for my dad as was the gold-cap Seamaster, the first actual vintage Omega I owned was this one:
This one was my first: I bought it from Farfo.com and way overpaid at the time (2003). Dial is original and almost perfect. Case is hallmarked 18K, but was made either in Spain or South America. With the rise of gold prices a few years ago, I could sell it now and get my money out. Didn't know better then, but we all live and learn. gatorcpa
My first was also a redial (which I knew at the time), it's currently getting serviced by Steve, including NOS watchco dial!
I owned a Seamaster Pro chrono diver, a Rolex vintage 1680 Sub, and an SM300 Watchco (modern) but yea that was actually the first piece I had
No, you were okay with that - the 501 could have either 19 or 20 jewels IIRC. The redial and rotor scrape is another story.
Actually, are you sure it's a redial? It looks ok to me but would like to see more pictures. I think I see Swiss Made hiding under the 6 marker.
