Thank you for your response. Fortunately my watch is 100% complete and is it safe to assume that the illustration shown is a "Full Moon"?
Should a "New Moon" shown only a silver outline of the moon? Not to worry - scans when set correctly this coming Monday afternoon ;-)

Im not sure what you are asking as I dont have one of this, but assume the full moon depiction should be fairly clear to identify-????

Full moon meaning the moon it at the very north with the hand also facing 12 and you are good to go. Sorry for the delayed response Miki

Thank you and I believe that my full, meaning all silver moon, was as you described on Sunday 08-10.
However my question remains: What the "New Moon" needs to show? Maybe only a silver out-line?

New moon will show just the black disk with stars in the aperture. It's much easier to start with the full moon position, because the movement each day is subtle, and this is the position where it's easiest to see that the moon is centered in the aperture.

When advancing any function like this using a corrector, just a reminder not to get impatient and push the corrector too quickly. Make sure that between "pushes" you let the corrector retract all the way back out before pushing it again.

I'll dig up a photo of what the disk looks like when I get a minute to show you.

    Cheers, Al

Here is a Cal. 1866 during a service I completed.

The moon phase disk is almost at new moon position, and if you imagine the aperture in the dial over it, if it was at new moon there would be no portion of the disk showing.

Thank you. Are you saying that my all silver moon is not the full moon?

What? Sorry I don't understand that question. You asked what a new moon was, which as I described is the field showing nothing but stars. The full moon looks like the full moon. It's not complicated, so don't overthink this mate.

    Cheers, Al

The "blind squirrel", me, may have found an acorn. I think I'm where I need to be and will post a scan Monday. Thanx-again, Miki
