Much like military and art-deco, it seems a lot of sellers have noticed that pie-pan Constellations sell for more than non-pie-pan Constellations, so tack that on to the ad... http://www.ebay.com/itm/Vintage-Man...ristwatches&hash=item4d00835c7a#ht_500wt_1156Purchases made through these links may earn this site a commission from the eBay Partner Network http://www.ebay.com/itm/OMEGA-18K-C...ristwatches&hash=item3f167b3844#ht_1040wt_898Purchases made through these links may earn this site a commission from the eBay Partner Network Even the purveyors of ugly TT Rolex Datejusts get in on the action... with a Pie-CRUST dial MMM... This is an ugly dial... with a gutter around the edge. Calling it art-deco is at least vague and meaningless enough to avoid people noticing
Looks like you picked the wrong one. A faked case comes with fake dial with wrong script, wrong hands.
Geez Hoi, that's a crappy watch. Ship it to me so I can part it out. (yeah, that's what I'll do with it! )
Pink 14K gold capped The first Piepan 2699 de Luxe with Crosshair and bracelet Hidden crown 168010 hidden crown 168004 GL 168.002 167.005 14381 and 2852 rose gold de Luxe and some more ....
Oooooo, pink gold capped - very nice! Steve (Cicindella) has a pink gold capped 14.381 / 551 cross hair that's sweet too. That's the reference and case style I'd want for the caliber 551 example in my collection.
You guys are freaking killing me with all these piepan pics. I've gotta get one for myself. By the way, those idiots listings those watches as piepans need to be taken out back and beaten.
Hi Ashley. No, it's 14K solid yellow gold. Dennis. Yes, the 14k pink gold capped does look nice and I like it very much. and the movement is a beauty to look at.
There are TONS of them on eBay. ..... if you don't mind redials. FYI: Antiquorum sold a gold capped version of this watch - punch in "2943" in the Search Text box and it's the first listing that pops up: http://catalog.antiquorum.com/catalog.html Currency convert 38,400 HKD, deduct about 20% for premiums, and now you know how many pennies to save. Check your messages. That's been going on as long as I've collected Omega. It's worse now since there's more money in it though.
