I am away, traveling, only my photos to remind me.....
I happen to be a patina junkie, I like dials coloured by passing time.
I do half expect someone to come along one day and tell me they made all these brown dials in Vietnam with a bit of baking soda, but in the meantime I shall enjoy them.

Nah, they use peroxide in Vietnam.

I'm quite intrigued by these brown dials as well. Here's mine.

Is there any scientific explanation for why some dial turn brown.........'tropical', so I assume it relates to humidity and temperature. It would seem to be a defect in materials as far as Omega would be concerned I would think.

A more thorough explanation will come up shortly but I think it is due to faulty batches of paint, hence why watches within certain serial ranges are more likely to have a brown dial, such as 2911xxxx.

Hhhmmmm that's interesting. I wonder how soon after production discolouration of the dials was observed and how many were replaced during service (quite a few I would imagine).

So you mean you can scrape all that brown muck off, re-paint and restore the dial to its former glory :)

I must say that personally, a little bit of brown is appealing, too much less so.
