Since I've became more interested in vintage watches a couple of years ago l've always concentrated on Speedmasters. This will pretty much always be the case, but I have found myself looking occasionally at vintage Constellations and Seamaster dress watches.

I came upon this in a local antique centre. It looks to me like it's had a polish but the facets are still there. There's some bobbles on the dial (almost look like water droplets) which I presume is the lacquer, but I think it passes the MOY test. Saying that, I'm an utter novice when it comes to Constellations.

Any thoughts on the condition and a UK market value?

By the way, apologies for the poor pics.

Poorly refinished dial and case has been polished quite a bit.

Thanks. It's the first time I've actually held a Connie. I was looking through a loupe but wasn't really sure what I was looking for.

It's easy to see how people buy these without knowing any better.

I can see that the 'n's in constellation don't seem right, but I'd be interested in knowing what other factors make this a poor redial

    Uneven minute markers.

    Should it have "Swiss made"?

Everything is wrong about this redial - fonts are wrong, minute marks are too long, crosshairs are too heavily printed and the surface finish is also wrong (granular in this case).

Date window should have some shaping to it, what I think is referred to as faceting. Also, the number simply looks really bad as its off centered

For someone that's sold over 300 seamaster watches you should know that
you would not see the dial then..

I've been looking at Connies over a year now, and only recently, this month, taken the plunge with trusted members

Too many ppl out there passing off fakes n redials as 'originals, just see my feedback' and all that.

Check out the FS section and the many other threads on OF.net and you'll avoid getting scammed ((or at least know when you may be allowing yourself to be 'hoodwinked')).

Shout out for all the help & to the enablers !!!!

The Ms look off too.I think all of the fonts on this dial may be fishy.
