In 2012 Omega produced 311.32.40.30.01.001 commemorating the 50th anniversary of 1st Omega in space

    Pros:
    Available BNIB for $4K
    Modern caliber 1861
Vintage styling (no CG, Alpha hands, etc.)

    Cons:
Poser, will mockingly remind me I couldn't find an affordable 2998
Leather only (bracelet $750 from Otto Frei)

Finally, been very happy with my 345.222, though I got it pre-loved

Maybe I'm just pining for some black bezel goodness, besides my reduced

I love the look of the FOIS and the more I see it the higher it creeps up my list of wanted Speedmasters.

Thanks, how could i forget Wally Schirra, after watching him with Uncle Walter on all those televised Apollo missions!

He was also the guy who brought music to space :)

I have the FOIS and the 57 reissue and like both of them very much. All of my Speedmasters are modern (Gemini IV also) and I don't find any thing "poser" with any of them. The FOIS you are specifically looking at is a well done reissues that many of the members here have. It is different enough from your 57 reissue to get adequate wrist
time and I think you would really like it based on what you already have, Speedmaster wise. Maybe even
enough to sell that reduced model.;)

I really like the FOIS, without the crown guards is a really cool watch.

I'm diggin' the FOIS too. Very classy, and yet far easier to maintain I'd hazard a guess. I'm thinking about one too...

I'm not sure anyone is finding an "affordable 2998" these days.

Would it be possible to switch the hands of this watch with modern stick speedmaster hands and chronograph seconds hand?

Not sure where you got the $750. bracelet from, mine is on a 1125 new from Ofrei, for $360. Plus you can find used one cheaper

Owning both a FOIS and a 2998 allows me to use the FOIS everyday and save wear, tear, and rain drops on the 2998.

BTW, no one has ever said anything besides very nice watch, that includes WIS's here In the US and the "boys" in Bienne.

That's a good deal if anyone is willing to deal with Jomashop. I have no experience dealing with them but have seen mixed reviews from others. A bit too late for me to consider...got mine two weeks ago..
