    Hi
My father gave this watch and i would like further information on it re: value, date released etc.

It has been serviced by Omega in Switzerland and is in excellent working condition.

Can anyone please give me an idea of the value of the watch, as I would like to sell it.

    Attached are some images.

    Many thanks

    Nat

It's from 1969 ish, and I would guess about US$500—$650 on eBay including the receipt of the service on the ad would help.

Thanks Shaun. Don't have the receipt unfortunately. Is that USD- I am based in Sydney Australia. Thanks for your help. Cheers.

Did Omega replace the dial and hands when they serviced it?

I think they did- apparently it was very expensive.

The slightly unfortunate thing is the watch would have been worth a lot more to sell if he hadn't had those parts replaced, collectors want the original tritium dial and hands. Normally they'll send the old parts back, did you get those with the watch?

Collector value is limited as indicated above. Caseback has has a serious bite polished out.

It may suit some one looking for a nice vintage watch to wear.

If selling on eBay Australia, I think around the $600 mark, maybe more if a bidder really likes it.

Good question- I recently went to another watchmaker and he took a look at it. He thought the watch was touched up- painted. I do not recall receiving any parts back- my father would have given me those- had that occurred. The thing is, when I went to the watchmaker- he had the whole catalog/book from omega- absolutely amazing to see the watches through time (their advertising was really cool back in the 50's & 60's). We couldn't find my watch (there were ones which were similar, but not exactly the same). What are your thoughts?

What are you referring to regarding the caseback? (internal or external)? Cheers.

Its definitely a real watch, they're quite popular among members here, late 1960s they were produced

I have one with the same case #s 168.022/166.028, with a 563 movement 2717XXXX but the hands are different. Hour and minute hands are black with longer luminous areas, and red second hand.

Nice- wondering what the two "T's" stand for?

What if it didn't have the dent- would it be worth more?

I believe the dial is original with tritium lume and it's value is way more than about $600 since it's just been serviced by Omega recently. Can someone show some examples of this model in similar condition that've been sold recently for around $600, even without the service?

Thanks- I had a feeling it would be worth more than $600.00, as the condition is very good. I would appreciate some posts to show me ones which have been sold for around $600.00. Could you please put an approximate value on it?

    Many thanks

T stands for Tritium. It's the material that makes the hands and hour markers glow. If I'm not mistaken, one T refers to the dial and one to the hands, so 'T swiss made T' means hands and dial are luminous. You might also see 'swiss made T' or 'T swiss made' for hands only or dial only, and 'swiss made' for neither.

More modern watches don't include the Ts anymore as tritium is no longer used, so only 'swiss made' on modern watches.

Very nice watch Btw. I'm a big fan of the next one, 168.023

The original tritium dials and hands look like this, take a close look at the hands and the tritium plots on the dial and compare to the original post pics.
