In the UG ebay thread, there was mentioning about some UG cloisonne dials with arabian peninsula map and crazy prices. I posted one Omega in my collection, and due to the demands, I created a separate thread for it. I purchased this in Japan several years ago, and honestly, I do not know what I am having what are your thoughts?
A treasure indeed. The cloissone quality is not as high as the Neptunus Seamaster sold in Chrsities last year for more than 250K, but it looks Original to me. If I remember there is one with similar gold Seamaster Cloissone saudi map sold during Omegamania Antiquorum auction in 2007.
a request for wrist shots is made, so here it is: well, since I am already on a photo mood, here are some other shots: this one is for sale, look at my sale post please: http://omegaforums.net/threads/firs...geneve-cal-218-2-microtor-guiloche-dial.5734/ and this one was my latest purchase, a rare Raketa 23 in solid gold case:
just found this on bay which adds really more confusions http://www.ebay.com/itm/1950s-Longi...041761647?pt=Wristwatches&hash=item58b7dbdd6fPurchases made through these links may earn this site a commission from the eBay Partner Network
I'm not meaning to "rain on the parade", but I would need more documentation from the original owner (or Omega) to declare this to be a commissioned dial for Aramco or any other official purpose. I've seen a number of the "Sheik" dials for Constellations and Seamasters and these have the custom dial with regular Omega hands, usually rose gold, but sometimes black (like on some "C" case Constellations). Is the case on yours an original Omega watch case? It looks very similar to the Longines above, almost too similar. All that being said, regardless of provenance, this is a very nice looking dial. gatorcpa
