    Got this nice thing through the post on Saturday. I'm no expert on this model so I would like to know about the dial, is it original to the watch a slightly later replacement? Thanks.

    It's a refinish - a few of these lying around with this same dial style.

    Thanks. The person I bought it from claimed his grandfather had owned it since the 1960's so is that unlikley? I know enough to be sure it has not been refinished very recently. cheers

    It looks like an older refinish so the story is still plausible. Could have also been replaced or refinished at some point during that period.

    Many thanks for the info. It was very well priced and has the dust cover, spring thing, case back engravings and serial number in the correct 13..... range so I'm still happy!
