There's something vaguely reminiscent of the original acrylic bezel in that, but the watch has gotten so huge....

Nice looking, but I'm really disappointed it's white gold. To me, the GMT is a functional watch that's designed to be worn every day. You shouldn't be worried about wearing it on a trip to the beach or hiking. It should be stainless like the classic version.

I think after all the time and research they wanted to get $$$ back. Developing that redish ceramic color is NOT easy

Yes. Making it white gold is just an excuse to transform a $9000 watch into a $35000 watch.

I would think this watch is very capable of handling these [trip to the beach or hiking] trivial activities :p

Count me as being on the bus for people who don't want a tool watch to be gold no matter what the color is.

    For $35k I want a 6542 ;) Keep the gold,
give me a glowing radium Bakelite
But forgetting it's gold, it does
look great. One of my favorite designs
    and complications

Looks great but the price tag is sad. I'm disappointed Rolex chose to turn it's back to their fab-base like this. Oh well
