Hi, I'm about to purchase a Omega DeVille Prestige Quartz. i really love the clean and vintage look of this watch. what you guys think of the quartz caliber and the pricing? i love the automatic movement but the quartz is much more accurate I think. the watch is brand new with box and certificate. http://www.chrono24.nl/omega/de-vil...am&dosearch=true&urlSubpath=/search/index.htm
That's a lot of money to be paying for a quartz watch, I don't mind a quartz mind you, I'd have an X-33 Speedmaster in a heartbeat, but not a dress watch like that. Be sure that you're going to want it long term because it'll be very hard to sell as well.
Yeah already thought so, how about this beauty? http://www.chrono24.nl/dealer/zonje...8&watchTypeId=U&goal_email=1&__fsk=1028372096
Caliber 2500C is a fine caliber. The exterior condition is also very good. I don't see any apparent problem. Ask whether it came complete with box & original warranty. Check when was the watch purchased. I did not see Omega globe engraving, it might older than 2007 (when all watches has that laser engraving). Ask last time it is serviced and by whom. The seller mentioned 3 years international warranty. Check whether it is from Omega or store warranty (high probability from store). As for the price, most Chrono24 dealer put high opening price, but you could try to haggle. Here are several ebay sold listing of deville prestige stainless steel http://www.ebay.com/itm/NEW-OMEGA-DE-VILLE-PRESTIGE-CO-AXIAL-STEEL-424-13-40-20-02-001-WATCH-/331064509783?pt=Wristwatches&hash=item4d14fb8557&nma=true&si=8wNOl%2FCAk%2BFHA1ZiSGPM%2FaDFOJY%3D&orig_cvip=true&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l2557Purchases made through these links may earn this site a commission from the eBay Partner Network New one, sold slightly below USD 3000. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Omega-De-Ville-Prestige-Co-Axial-/291051948231?pt=Wristwatches&hash=item43c40c48c7&nma=true&si=8wNOl%2FCAk%2BFHA1ZiSGPM%2FaDFOJY%3D&orig_cvip=true&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l2557Purchases made through these links may earn this site a commission from the eBay Partner Network Almost new one, but smaller case (37mm), below USD 2000
Thanks for the reply guys. the DeVille small seconds is a brand new watch sold at a trustworthy jewelshop, box and original warranty Come with the watch, I will ask if it is Omega warranty. the first link is not the same watch, the one I'm after is the small seconds 39mm version.
Yes I am aware of that. There are no similar watch sold in ebay in the past 3-6 months as benchmarking clearance price, so I picked up the closest items. Anyway, small second Deville prestige is awesome. A fine choice
Personally, I am not a fan of quartz at all. Seems like a lot to spend on one. I know that many collectors feel the same, so like the above poster said, it may be a tough sell.
It is a swiss grade chronometer (COSC, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/COSC) so -4 to +6 seconds a day. How accurate do you need your watches to be?
I adore the model but I think that the price is a little raised seen the calibre of Quartz 1532, I recommend you to negotiate a discount, otherwise the model is excellent, nice but you can buy a cuban cigar with that money
Omegas are not adjusted to this -4 to + 6 specification that everyone quotes. Omegas tolerances for modern COSC watches are from -1 to +6 seconds for average daily rate at full wind as measured over 5 positions. In addition they set a target rate of +3 seconds average rate. Cheers, Al
today I bought the Omega de ville prestige co-axial, very nice classic looking watch. just love it. http://www.omegawatches.com/collection/de-ville/prestige/co-axial-395-mm/42413402002001
