Another one of a handful that must go, because I don't wanna have to buy another box . This was a @Tony C. beauty that I was lucky enough to nab, thinking I could find a way to wear it; the bracelet is so, so nice. Unfortunately, it is only micro-adjustable at the clasp, I have small wrists, and so off she will go to (most likely) someone with larger wrists (7.5 in+), or with more resources to modify the bracelet than I do. This Kingmatic has what I think is the most beautiful medallion of its era. The enlightened king is in his chariot being pulled by four horses in raised stainless steel. Then there's the mint sunburst dial that is simple, sweet, and beautiful. Also of note, is that every one of the tritium dots is present, and properly located. Somewhat unusual for a watch this age, which I would guess to be close to 50 years. The unpolished, excellent case, at 34.2mm w/out crown, wears large due to a narrow bezel. Lugs are sharp, and 18mm. The 28-jewel movement has not been serviced recently as far as I know, but she runs quite well, and accurately. Please check out all of the pics, since they are integral to the description. I'm happy to provide any additional ones, and answer any questions, too. The price includes conUS shipping (others at cost). Pay via PP (fees at your cost), wire, or FtF in Atlanta. Thank you for looking! If you like a gorgeous dial on a Heuer chrono, I also have this: https://omegaforums.net/threads/heuer-carrera-barrel-case-côtes-de-genève-110-573b-final-reduction-2200.70828/#post-898348 Cheers!
To the uninitiated: When a @Tony C. watch comes up for sale you should pay extra attention to it...it's sort of like buying a "curated" piece for a great price. And his watches, without exception, always look better in the flesh..
HI I have to agree... @Tony C. watches are untouched by human hands..... personally I like one with wear ... and tony and myself are very old friends... in the real world.. I always disclose if I have ties with a party in am talking about... good hunting bill
"I always disclose if I have ties with a party in am talking about..." Dear Mr. Sohne, This pointed statement possibly suggests that I have ties with said "Tony C." Nothing could be further from the truth. In fact I have never met Tony C. Well actually, I may have met with him. But no more than 30 or 40 times over the last 10 years. And no watches were ever discussed. Or maybe some watches were discussed. I don't recall. I deny also having ever met you. As long as you don't factor in a few fun trips to Brooklyn with you and Tony C. for dinner. But again... no watches were ever discussed! OK, maybe I am wrong about that. I just don't remember. This is all fake news. No Tony C. collusion! Let's all get together when Tony is back in the states- Best, Todd
Hey Todd! I don't even know your user name here! I was going give you a call..... Ok yes, I know Tony C. , yes I know twm57 ..... so I am partial to these gen telman to the point I know them and have conducted multiple deals with them over the years in face to face deals..... Best Bill
This is an illustration of why I never send revealing photos to my watch friends. On a more serious note, the subject Movado Kingmatic is a very nice watch, and in my view was very much on the same quality plane as its well-known competitors at the time, the Omega Constellation and Longines Conquest. Given that, its good value in the market is undeniable. The bracelet is uncommon and also quite nice, though as the seller (a great guy!) suggests, it would best suit someone with at least average-sized wrists. GLWTS!
And coincidentally, one of these nice bracelets appears on a very expensive Movado "El Primero"... https://www.ebay.it/itm/MOVADO-Datr...099325?hash=item4416f790bd:g:ulAAAOSwMfhafag7Purchases made through these links may earn this site a commission from the eBay Partner Network
Yes. And bidding is now at about $3800 for that one... or, maybe that's the ask. My Italian is a little rusty!
I'm happy to announce that the ‘King’ will be staying within the OF fam ! Heading way down Texas way... vvvvv Thanks so much to the buyer and this fine forum..
