I bought a new compact Panasonic Lumix back in January and spent some time mucking around with the macro settings. I just found the pictures and realised I've never shared them. Trying to snap the sign in the crystal was quite tough. And so here we are...

Very nice indeed...Great waffle shots. I find my waffle dial one of the most difficult to get accurate shots of. Really like the Omega logo crystal shot too.

Recommended Vintage on Ebay thread... January 2013? A forum member bought it first and I acquired it off him and then had it serviced and cleaned the crystal up.

 

Very happy with the watch, which is really uncommon in this size. Only thing that isn't original is the second hand... Would love to find a suitable second hand somewhere - I think blued steel would look rather good on a watch this age!

 

Is it not so that the blued steel seconds hand were only used on chronometers from this period?

Ah perhaps.. Sadly this watch wasn't one of the few, ever rarer, jumbo 351s that were COSC certified.

It's a cheap one; a DMC-TZ35.

The first two photos were taken on Macro mode, the rest on Macro with Digital Zoom, with just the tiniest amount of digital zoom (before the camera starts to increase the focal length). Focal length on all the pictures is the absolute minimum (4mm, 35mm equivalent 24).

Looks like I used aperture priority, with f/3.3, in order to be able to get away without a tripod (the slowest shutter speed seems to be 1/13), with ISOs ranging from 100-400.

I was mucking around with these pics.. next time I'd get the tripod out and try to control the lighting conditions a little better, which should let me avoid the extreme f-stop and get a slightly better depth of field.
