ThisPurchases made through these links may earn this site a commission from the eBay Partner Network just went down on the Bay for $7900. I was in the bidding til the end, but sadly came up short. My novice assessment was that this looked remarkably original and well preserved. Likely constitutes another example of the earlier dial style with the lume dots at 12,3,6, 9 rather than the bars. Let's see how I did. Can some of our Longines experts please chime in with the analysis of this one? Seller's photos for posterity:
Anyone have a source for replacement crystals for this size super compressor case? That was going to be next on my shopping list had I prevailed in the auction.
Looks good to me. Lume dots are just a variation in the Lld dials. And there are a number of different variations. That's what a seasoned collector on another forum told me when I wanted to get mine. And no, that seasoned collector is not on WUS.
Hope this isn't too stupid a question, but why doesn't the Longines have an actual Super Compressor caseback? By that I mean the EPSA helmet logo/patent numbers and unique caseback ridges. I know the Wittnauer version does....

I think they're in Brazil. You have to click through the photos in the description to Photobucket. He seems to be running on borrowed bandwidth.
