I recently picked up this Longines 8224-2 dive timer from ~1968. Movement is a cal 330 (valjoux 72). Based on my research, the compressor case should be brushed, not polished, like it is here. Will look into that when I get it serviced. The bracelet is a Gay Freres (semi ladder?) with Longines branding. End links are incorrect 20mm versions. It needs 22mm versions, which I imagine will be hard to find.

NIce buy. I've always watches these with interest, but held off because of the size. How do you find it on the wrist?

It's definitely a large watch. Its 42 x 42mm / 13mm thick and has 22mm lugs. The case appears to have been made by Ervin Piquerez S.A. (EPSA), but it is definitely not a Super Compressor.

Here is a photo of it with two other EPSA Super Compressor cases, a 42mm Geoscope and a 36mm Hamilton.

Based on my research, this dive timer came from the ultra chron family sans the high beat in house movement.
