    Hey gents,

Trying to take my mind off a 2990, and have been thinking about a linen dial.

This one looks nice. I'm still continuing my Vintage School education. What's to know about these? Dial is nice, and probably hard to redo. I think the crown is right. Case seems to be nice.

    Thoughts?

    As always, humbly appreciated.

I think it's a CK 14390-62-SC. I'm curious about the lack of 'Seamaster' on the dial. Most examples I'm finding have the work Seamaster on the lower portion of the dial above the 6 indicator.

well, it looks good to me - no seamaster on the back and no seamaster on the front (=congruent). i would not pay more than 250 euro though

Looks like a pretty nice one. I'd say the asking of $650 is high. €250 would be a steal IMO. Doubt the seller will go close to that.

If you can negotiate a price you're happy with vs. other options, why not?

    Thanks for the feedback!

What's the deal with the lack of Seamaster? Is it part of a different line?

Maybe, maybe not. "Seamaster" was more of marketing tool than anything else. Most Omegas with screw-back cases and gaskets came with and without the name on the dial.

Makes little difference today, unless you have to have "Seamaster" on the dial. Very much unlike the Ref. 2990 Ranchero, where the name on the dial might be worth $1,000 or more.

    Hope this helps,

€250? Anybody would buy this for €250, as they'd surely be able to double their money on it. This watch is gorgeous and pristine. I'd buy it myself if I didn't already have a bunch of vintage Omegas. And at 36mm...it has everything going for it. €250 barely gets you a broken vintage Omega nowadays. The seller will pull $600, I am sure of it. It's not even a bad buy at $600 IMO, as it would be a highly enjoyable watch.
