    Awesome watches Rdl81 and Al.
I have a similar watch Rdl81, but mine is at the watch makers. It was running very erratically (fast)
I also have a similar Vertex, Al. I love those WWW British watches-I have 4 in my collection-Omega, Vertex, and 2 Record. My dream is to have all the WWW "Dirty Dozen" in my collection
Anyone have any US, German, or Japanese watches from WWII? How about anymore WWW watches-anyone? I'd love to see more pictures
Here are a few more from my collection-Cyma Tavannes Trench Watch from 1916

Many thanks, I started off in military, collecting initially pocket watches and then moving on to CWC, Bulova etc.etc. I have my eye on another Omega military wrist watch at the moment so hopefully.

P1040655.JPG P1040653.JPG This watch is the Ref: CK2129 and it has the Omega 15-jewel Cal.23.4 SC movement with a centre seconds.

Military issue wristwatch made for the Air Ministry, and retailed by the Goldsmiths & Silversmiths Co.Ltd. These watches were ordered from Omega in London and 2000 watches equipped with rotating bezels were ordered and were intended for Royal Air Force crews. Delivery was from the 10th of March 1940.

This watch has a cream dial which is original, it does have some ageing but this does not detract, it has original blued steel Poire hands, the bezel is marked to 60 and is rotating, it also has a special bezel locking crown. The bars are fixed.
The case back is stamped AM for Air Ministry with the Goldsmiths & Silversmiths mark and a date code for 1940

    Thanks for the comments.
This was my father's watch which he wore for most of his life, hence the battered and worn appearance of the back case.
He was a pilot in Bomber Command and he wore this watch most of his life.
It has recently been serviced but the case and dial with the patina were left as is, as I like the contrast between the aged dial and the blue steel hands. It runs very accurately.
When I get some time I will get his War Record to see where he and this watch saw action.
    Movement before service

How awesome to have and wear your father's watch from when he was a pilot
If that watch could talk, what fabulous stories it could tell

Ok this is probably stretching the original point of the thread ?
Suddenly remembered the aircraft clock that I have fitted in my motorhome :)
