Its nice to see this Cal 89 with the uneven numbers, but I think also the one with even numbers, I own, looks great.
...and this one........oh....I need to add IWC in my collection. BTW how you convince Steve to let go this beauty? My understanding all of his watches has ULF Dibs printed in all its surfaces?
I was unable to convince Steve. I gave up on that option and looked up to eBay as alternative to scratch this particular itch of mine
Becoming quite impressed with these simple and clean vintage IWCs. Speaking of which, can anyone tell me more about this watch (and possibly how much one would need to budget for something like this: http://www.hodinkee.com/blog/2011/9/1/just-because-an-early-1960s-iwc-automatic-dress-watch.html
That's a redial. I don't even need a better picture to spot it. However, if you want an original stainless steel automatic from the 60's plan on spending $1300 at least. If you want a series automatic like a Yacht Club add $400 minimum, and double that or more for an Ingenieur.
Am in the hunt for an Ingenieur ref 666 or 866. But have not seen any going for less than 5k in the last few months. Dealers are even asking near $10k for a stainless.
My preference is IWC and Omega equally. Although I do like my memovox as well. Going off Heuer, the Carrera will have to go.
I need to get busy and photograph the watches. This was taken for a firearms forum and the IWC with Cal. 89 movement was just slipped in there because it was being worn that day.
These two Ingenieur are in my collection ,they are from the late 80 s . The left I take very often because she is from the year I ended the study of mechanical engineering in germany. The right and others can go in future I will concentrate my collection to the omega constellation from the 50s to the 80s. Preferred in rosegold Dietmar
Dietmar, what size is the one on the right with the white dial? IIRC, they're sub-40 mm which is right in my wheelhouse.
So it's a stainless bezel? The dial furniture and hands look like they're gold so I thought it would be a two tone watch.
