....I managed to snag this beauty off auction:





An immaculate, mint conditioned, rose gold 18K Lemania. At a really good price too. The same seller also auctioned a Longines Flagship 18K in equally good condition. I would have loved to get it too, but it went way higher, so I had to pass on it. I wonder how long it will take me to regret being cheap in the moment of truth! They don´t come out often, in 18K and in mint condition!

What do you think guys, will we see further increases in the goldprice ahead?

And gold prices will be going much, much higher in the coming years. It won't be a straight line, of course, and the banks and politicians will continue to attempt to suppress the price, but their ability to do so (using 100/1 leverage through futures markets) is rapidly waning. When the manipulation ends – and it will – gold will rapidly seek its 'natural' market price, which will be far higher than what you see today.

 

No idea about gold prices but that's definitely a great watch. Congrats Martin.

 

I'm no goldbug but I like the idea of owning gold watches because I get a utility benefit + intrinsic value of the precious metal.

Gold is über defensive and not really a good investment in and of itself. However, it's a fantastic way to preserve generational wealth and provides almost perfect zero delta versus just about every other commodity. Meaning: an ounce of gold in 2015 can be traded for the same exact amount of corn bushels as 50 years ago, 500 years ago and even 5000 years ago. Obviously, no paper or fiat currency can make this claim. The £ is easily the most "successful" form of currency for all of history and it's still a dog. A pound note today is only worth one half of one percent of original value.
