........Cal. 354, white gold arrow markers. Year: 1954/55 Pics by the seller, as it's going directly from him to the watchmaker for a full service. Got great help from a OF member - thanks again to you, and to OF Q.: Is a correct ss crown easy to find, or.....? Thanks.
Nice catch for a nice price while I snoozed on this... The clover type crown is still available from Cousins and the 10 sided one pops up on eBay all the time.
I'd go for an Omega decagonal crown. Used to have some spare ones but unfortunately I have sold them together with my Constellation earlier this year. Try Cousins.
+1 on reliable watchmaker. A precious watch irretrievably damaged during repair and difficulties finding a quality watchmaker who's actually available has put the brakes on all purchases for me.
Thanks again guys Now, please check the pics below and tell me, if you still like it, or I bought my first redial? And just to be clear - if redial, the OF member who helped me, did warn me of the risk...... Of course I hope you'll say it's OK, but no matter what, I, despite the right to return it, will keep it Thanks.
There are some variations in early models with different dial makers. The MOY rule applies in every instance that it does, except when it doesn't.
As to why I had doubts - well, mostly because the 12 and 3 O'clock marker is angled a bit compared to the cross lines. But glad to hear you believe it's OK Thank you for sharing your knowledge, folks Paul
Watch finally came in today after a full service. First time I see it in person - I'm in love Think I'll find a black strap for it, though...... Thanks again for your help, guys Paul
