A part from the vintage constellation design the only other watch that tickled by bones is this beauty ...
Ooh, a wish list! I'd totally agree with Mike's suggestion of a Simplicity , 37mm in a platinum case. Others I would consider: - FP Journe Octa Reserve de Marche in platinum - a Patek 5146 annual calendar - JLC's ultra thin minute repeater with flying tourbillon , or their Perp Cal in platinum - a Lange 1 "Darth" or the Saxonia Annual Cal
Yea if it were me I'd be going for a Patek, JLC or Lange over the Celini, and the Celini pricing is such that the Patek isn't much more and the JLC can be a fair bit cheaper.
I have to say the 2014 Cellinis are pretty nice, and it's a shame they don't get as much attention as their sporty brethren. The black dial Dual Time with Everose is really quite tastefully done, and I like that they've used curved springbars; pity though that Rolex doesn't use display backs. For me though, the watch "that would make me jump" would excite me from both front and back - it should have a display back with a beautifully laid-out and decorated movement. Dufour's Simplicity, the JLCs, FPJ's, Langes and Pateks all excel in this area. I find it very soothing to take a loupe and admire a movement in all its intricate splendour, and marvel at how much artistry and craftsmanship go into our watches.

The hands and lugs of that UJ are very nice... Interesting how quite a few of us gravitate towards independents, and in sizes of 37-38mm.
To get a Simplicity, you need much more than just money, but if I had the money and the opportunity came up, I would take it no matter what version it was...34 or 37 mm....platinum, rose gold, or whatever case material....and either guilloche or enamel dial variant. I don't look for them like I used to (the money part isn't what it used to be) but I have only ever seen 2 come up for sale on the secondary market, and Mr. Dufour stopped taking orders for these years ago. When you talk about a dream watch, to me independent watchmakers are where the real desire is, not big brands typically. Two others that I admire both as people and watchmakers (both are very nice people, and excellent at what they do) are: http://www.voutilainen.ch/site/ and... http://www.romaingauthier.com/ Cheers, Al
.....one of many watches that will surely make me jump......(unfortunately that Celinni is not C....)
I am a fan of Dornbluth & Sohn. I just never dress up so not sure how well this would work with shorts and a t-shirt. http://www.dornblueth.com/flash.php?p=collection&s=refcal_993&ss=00
It would look fine. A chronograph is not really typically a dress watch, and with the strap on it I would consider it a casual watch that could be worn with causal clothing. Cheers, Al
Although this watch can be had for much less than most of the watches posted here, I have always been interested in this beautiful 34mm Lange from the early 2000's.
