    For a real trip,
Go back in your account to the first posts and threads that you ever made on this forum.
Look at the nOOb (yourself) and check out the dudes that painstakingly drug your ass through the muck and got you started in the right direction !
It's amazing to me that the guy's that started me off (from scratch, future unknown) two years ago are still the ones that I count on.
I am amazed by the patience, understanding and guidance that I have been offered, pro bono, from the most knowledgeable, most professional, most humorous, most meticulous and most scientific horological minds in the wide, wide world.

A sincere thanks to you, Warren, Dennis, Mike, Trev, Alex, Steve, Norman, Stuart, Evan, Kyle, Yann, Adam, Achim, Lou, Jim and the countless others I have failed to mention but who's knowledge and help I draw on every single day !

I sit in the middle of America but feel I have friends in every corner of this world.

    My God, I am blessed.

I echo your thoughts and sentiments Jim, we are indeed in a nice place.

Aye, the "One Barrel" is always good for a few heartfelt posts and a purchase or two.
I hope you noticed the "Jim".

    Here, hear!

this messageboard is the coolest watch forum on the intraweb.

the pit bosses do a good job keeping the players at the tables.

another thing I dig about this joint is the way pushy sellers are kept away from the casino. Good job by all.

I could list the dozen other reasons I like this place but they're probably the same reasons the euphemistic you like this place...

Agreed. A huge thanks to all the Master Yodas on this board. You have kept me from stupid purchases, and also helped me deplete my retirement account with reckless abandon. ::money::

I also want to give a big thanks to everybody who has helped me along through the past year. I would not have a passion/obsession/appreciation for watches like I do without you wonderful guys.

Ive been on this board twice a day every day for two years now. Frustratingly my pace of learning seems to be very slow as I just want to be able to give a little back, and every time I open my mouth I seem to get something wrong. The net result is that I too have benefited from pretty much every single one of the senior members, in terms of both knowledge and very often watches.... but I genuinely enjoy watching them helping other people day in and day out, some of whom then rapidly outpace my knowledge and abilities too! Thanks gents - those helping now and those who will be helping sooner than they think...

Yeah this and the sex addicts forum are my two favourite places to hang out. A great bunch of people who would do anything for you.

I feel exactly the same and think it will probably be years before I have the confidence to actually recommend something.
Once in a great while, however, I do notice some change, some distance that I have been able to come.

Going back and looking at those first posts made me lol, from asking opinions on a horribly redialed OC Watch Co. orange beauty, to private messaging an extremely busy Mod over a stinkin' strap.

Mothra, your posts have always conveyed the image of an accomplished, thoughtful gentleman.
I believe one of the signs of wisdom is the realization that there are vast amounts of knowledge that we have not acquired and the feeling of inadequacy that accompanies this realization.
I think that is why the most learned are often the most humble.

You know, I thought of the fellow as I was typing and I still stand by what I feel.
While "The Terminator" can be direct, abrasive and mean, I don't ever remember him bragging or being pompous about his watch knowledge.

This doesn't mean we don't love ya, big boy !

This forum and it's participants is, without a doubt, the finest I have ever known. Even as my interests in particular brands change, this remains my favorite forum.
The Omega forum was my favorite place during my lengthy Speedmaster 321 obsession. The Watches For Sale forum was the source of two of the finest Speedy examples I have ever encountered from sellers that could not have been friendlier or more professional (even if one Speedy was "pre-Professional!"), Thank you Martin. Thank you Neil.
The same forum continued to fuel my "distraction" as I shifted interest from Longines and Omega to Rolex. Thanks Dennis for a lovely IWC! And to David for another! Alas, those go back to the "block" as I refocus the watch fund on a Daytona.
Sellers sometimes have no concerns to whom their items sell. I was very pleased to keep those Speedys "in the family." Thank you to those persons, who may wish to remain anonymous.
I find this place to be very strong with regard to Omega and Longines specialists. The strength is solid in the Universal and Zenith forums as well. Perhaps I haven't given the Rolex forum here much of a chance, but I now spend most of my time on a different forum that also has a lot of support for my interest in Patek Philippe.
Wow, I'm getting wordy as always. Let me just say THANK YOU to the group for making this the fantastic forum it is. I will always feel welcome here. And even as my focus changes, I will visit from time to time. And when a Longines Conquest/All-Guard or Omega Pre-Moon seduces me again as I expect it will, I know exactly where to go for support.
Much love and thanks, and wishes for continued enjoyment of the hobby, Bryan aka Time Exposure.

    Best. Watch. Forum. EVER.

Several have mentioned the amount of expertise concentrated in this forum, which is remarkable for its depth of knowledge as well as its breadth across many watch brands.

Having purchased several watches from fellow forum members (Mike, Norman, Angel etc) has reinforced my idea that this is a community where people look out for and help one another. The willingness to help is amazing, and I echo UncleBuck in my gratitude for the many insights and lessons I've learned from so many here in advising me what to buy, and what not to buy. Thanks everyone!

I am in G-Shock city central that most of the jeweller,s won't even touch a brand name watch let alone sell one. I can get top notch advice and pick up a nice watch that's with the postal ninja in no time.

Thanks all to have helped out over the years ::beer::
