I somehow either missed or forgot about this thread. With spring around the corner here in the midwest, fly-tying has commenced in earnest--the snowpack is good, water levels are good, and of course--since every fisherman is essentially an optimist--the promise of the season is good. Here's some older pics: Landlocked salmon from Maine: Landlock with a nice kype, up close: Brown trout from the Ausable in upstate NY: Maine brook trout--in the Adirondacks a good brookie is maybe 10-12 inches; in Maine, a fish like this one is special. Up in Labrador, however..... Every spring I keep a few fish from the Ausable, and these get smoked and enjoyed with a good Meursault.
